FISHER BRIDGE
(N Gauge 9mm)
(N Gauge 9mm)
This layout from the Swindon Model Railway Club was built to enable members stock to stretch their legs a little on a fairly simple continouus run.
The track plan is best described as a figure of eight with the loops of the loops of the eight folded over on each other. This means that a train which traverses the layout in one direction on the upper level will next be viewed on the lower level in the same direction. The upper and lower levels are actually one and the same circuit in each direction and are completely independent of each other with no physical connection between them.
The fiddle yard takes care of the storage of up to a maximum of 24 complete trains, although in pratice fewer trains are used. The gradients to the upper and lower levels are incorporated within the storage area.
The layout was built on plywood baseboards on softwood frames and the scenery was deliberately kept simmple.
All stock is owned by individual members and reflects each members's interests and trains are run to a sequence and are controlled by the working colour light signals on the scenic section of the layout.
I hope you enjoy the parade of trains passing over and under Fisher Bridge.
